2017 Red Ratafia

Traditionally enjoyed as an aperitif, on its own to begin an evening. Originated in France – known as a celebratory beverage during harvest season.
Pair with blue cheeses, the sweetness offsets the saltiness beautifully.

On the nose, the 2017 Ratafia Red explodes with aromas of plum, maraschino cherries, maple syrup, and a touch of cassis. Notes of baking spices, cocoa, and honey also come through on the wine’s finish. A well-balanced sweet wine with pleasant warmth and flavours that linger on the palate.

Unfermented Pinot Noir juice was fortified with locally grown plum and cherry fruit spirits to a final alcohol of 18%/vol.  Stabilized by the alcohol, this product underwent no fermentation and was aged in older French oak for approximately 5 years.
